A Fully Stocked Pharmacy

Pet owners have many choices when purchasing medication, including online pharmacies and mail-order catalogs. We offer the best value for your money while providing convenient, reliable and personalized service.

Remember that your vet has the complete medical information on your pets, and the ability to anticipate drug interactions or other problems that can result from inappropriately administering medication.

Ask us about our fully stocked pharmacy. We maintain a large inventory of veterinary pharmaceutical products and medications. This includes flea, tick, and heartworm preventive products.

If your pet requires medication for a chronic medical condition or needs short-term medication while recovering from an illness, injury, or surgery, you can rely on us. We obtain your pet’s medications from safe, reliable sources and they are stored under optimal conditions. Our trained staff will fill your prescriptions with care.

Pain Management Programs

Manatee Veterinary Clinic's approach to pain management involves anticipating possibly painful procedures and taking steps to manage pain from the outset as well as continuing to manage pain throughout your pet’s treatment and recovery process.

Pain in pets can be very subtle and easily can go unnoticed. Our staff of compassionate, caring professionals is skilled in recognizing signs of pain in animals and developing an individualized pain plan.

We are dedicated to providing safe and effective pain management to every animal we treat. This includes routine procedures (such as spaying or dental cleanings), advanced medical treatments (such as bone surgeries or cancer treatments), and chronically painful conditions (such as arthritis or back pain). Let us help you recognize signs of pain in your pet.

Trust our quality, compassionate patient care. Our staff doesn't take pain management for granted and we will employ our expertise to ensure your pet’s comfort.

Microchipping Service

If your pet goes missing, you want to ensure they return home safely. Don't trust collars or tags. Microchipping your animal is a safe and simple form of identification that can significantly increase the chance that your pet will return safely.

Did you know that a microchip is only about the size and shape of a grain of rice? The microchip is placed underneath your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. The implantation only takes a few minutes and is very safe. Each microchip is unique and carries vital information about your pet. This includes your name, address, and contact information.

After a microchip is implanted, the pet owner is given a registration form to complete. Registering the number on the microchip includes your pet in a national pet recovery database. Veterinary hospitals, animal shelters, and animal control offices across the country are equipped with special electronic scanners that can detect the microchip and read the identification number.

When a lost pet is picked up by animal control, a quick scan of the microchip reveals the identification number. A toll-free phone call to the pet recovery database alerts the microchip company that a lost pet has been identified. The pet owner can then be contacted and reunited with his or her pet!

Pet Health Resources

If your pet been diagnosed with a condition that you are unfamiliar with, or if you want to know more about how a particular drug works, we can help. We're ready to provide advice on pet behavior, nutrition, or administering medications. We can also provide you with an extensive collection of pet health information.

With the wide range of information available on the Internet, it can be difficult to know what’s trustworthy and what’s inaccurate. We can provide you with accurate, current, and reliable information on a wide variety of topics.

Pet Food, Supplements, and Treats

Feeding your pet the right food can make a big difference in your pet’s health. We offer a wide variety of specialty and therapeutic diets for all ages of pets and disease conditions. Ask about our special supplements for general wellness and specific conditions.

If you trying to help your pet lose weight, ask about our special lower-calorie treats, which you can give your pet without any guilt. We also have diets, chews, and treats that can help keep your pet's gums and teeth healthier by controlling plaque and tartar.

While we are happy to recommend a diet for your pet, a veterinary consultation is required for our prescription diet foods and our supplements. Contact us today to schedule an appointment to discuss your pet’s nutritional needs.

Referrals for Veterinary Specialists

While our experienced team of veterinarians and veterinary technicians provide many services at our clinic, we occasionally refer patients to veterinary specialists or specialty clinics when advanced training or equipment will be beneficial.

Board-certified veterinary specialists, including oncologists, ophthalmologists, and neurologists, have extensive experience and training in a particular area of veterinary medicine or surgery. Finding specialty clinics and university-affiliated centers that have specialized equipment to perform procedures that are not routinely performed by general veterinary practitioners is important.

Allow us to make referral decisions. We want to ensure that our patients receive the highest standard of care and best possible outcome. When we refer a patient to another hospital, we continue to stay involved with the pet's care.
