Preventative Wellness and Immunizations

Monitoring Health and Diagnosing Illnesses

Show your pet that you love them by keeping them healthy. Regular wellness and vaccination visits through Manatee Veterinary Clinic are one of the easiest and least expensive ways to properly care for your pet.

Dogs and cats are far faster than humans, so their health status can change quickly. Our pet wellness programs allow us to diagnose medical conditions early when they’re easier to treat or manage.

Prevent diseases with appropriate vaccinations and preventive care. Healthy adult dogs and cats should visit us once a year. If your puppy, kitten, senior pet, or a pet with health issues or illnesses need more frequent veterinary care, we’ll help you create a wellness program for your pet, including a vaccination and prevention protocol.

Vaccinations

You can expect today's pets to live longer, healthier lives than ever before. This is thanks to, in part, vaccines that help protect pets from diseases. Vaccines against dangerous diseases have saved millions of pets and virtually eliminated some once-common fatal diseases.

However, many diseases continue to pose a threat to unvaccinated dogs and cats. While vaccine programs are successful and often are considered routine, pet owners shouldn't become complacent about keeping pets up-to-date on their vaccinations.

Remember that not every pet needs every available vaccine. Some vaccines are considered core vaccines and should be administered to all pets. Other vaccines are optional and may be recommended for certain pets. Recommendations on vaccinations can also change throughout a pet’s life. We'll consider all factors to determine the right vaccines for your pet.

Nutritional Counseling

Nutrition will always play a critical role in your pet’s overall health and well-being. Since many nutritionally complete commercial diets have seemingly taken much of the guesswork out of choosing a suitable diet for pets, some owners overlook this important decision.

Did you know that your pet’s nutritional needs change with age and activity level? Specially formulated diets can help manage numerous medical conditions, including kidney disease, diabetes, arthritis, and heart disease. As an owner, you should know how many calories your pet is consuming each day and be comfortable reading and interpreting pet food labels.

When your pet requires a special diet or needs to gain or lose weight, our nutritional counseling services can help you accomplish your goals and keep your pet in good health. We provide counseling in feeding practices for pets during various life stages, including pregnancy, nursing, and the “golden years.”

If your pet has a medical condition, we'll help you find an appropriate diet to meet your pet’s needs.
